Whitney Houston 1963-2012
When I woke up this morning to the news feed on my Facebook homepage, the first thing I read are statuses paying tribute to one of the greatest female artists of all time.
Whitney Houston sadly passed away at 23.55pm (GMT) at the Beverley Hills Hilton, LA, on the eve of the Grammy awards. Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Throughout her career, Whitney revolutionized the R&B music industry. Her gospel voice exceeded everyone's expectation and has since then lead to her winning 2 Emmys, 6 Grammy's,  22 American Music Awards and 30 Billboard awards throughout her 30 year career. As well as singing, Whitney also acted in the film The Bodyguard. Her biggest hits include How Will I Know, I Will Always Love You and Waiting To Exhale.

Her voice and talent lead to generations of singers aspiring to be like her, with songs such as I Will Always Love You being used throughout auditions on singing contests such as X Factor and American Idol .
I personally use to listen to her album as a child when my mum use to play it the car on the way to school, hard to believe how much of influence one woman can have throughout each generation.
